We’re excited to be showing work by Cleveland photographer and educator Jonathan Wayne for the April and May Tremont Art Walk openings at Mastroianni Arts. Jonathan is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and has his MFA from the Maine College of Art. He is the co-chair of the photography department at Cuyahoga Community College. View the artist’s website.
The exhibition opens April 9, 2010, with a reception for the artist from 6-10pm, and continues through May 14th 2010. The gallery is open for Artwalk the second friday of every month from 6-10, and by appointment.
My interest is with the memory retained in a place, the cyclical and the beauty of ruin. Whether it is a depiction of a regenerating landscape, a reconstituted memory made temporarily visible or a form that will slowly be subsumed back into the earth, my work deals with history and memory: the fleeting and the ephemeral.~Jonathan Wayne
